Residential Custom Designs

Castle Stained Glass has over 25 years of experience in custom designing windows, transoms, sidelights and cabinet door inserts for homes throughout the central coast of California.  Special attention is paid to the clients wishes in creating designs that will last a lifetime.  We pride ourselves on constructing stained glass that is both pleasing to the eye as well as structurly strong.  Consideration is given to the application and installation requirements.  These are some of the examples of the scope and breath of our work.  From simple to complex, we can design a window that is just for you.

This home in Goleta, CA chose to add the beauty of stained glass above the entry door and in the family room

The entry window enhances the colors and designs of the art work and furniture.  The type of glass was chosen to block the bright sun from entering the room.

In the family room the design compliments the tuscan style and colors of the walls and decoration.  The clear antique glass in the background lets in lots of light

Designed using a combination of the traditional stained glass and fused glass, this front door panel gives a light an airy fee;omg to the design.  The border consists row of bevels surrounded by a deep purple glass border.  The center design was fused in a kiln and then assembled in the Tiffany copper foil method.

The interior section is done in the fused glass method.  The cherry blossems on a branch were applied to a textured iridescent glass.  The centers of the flowers were made using frit (ground glass) and the detail on the branches were done using stringers (thin strip of glass) that were bent to follow the design. This section was fired in a kiln to a contour fuse so that the design has dimensional quality.

This custom designed ceiling fixture is in the main room at the Mason 's Lodge in San Luis Obispo.  Rhw  22 inch half globe has the Mason's logo in the center.  The glass used for the fixture was a clear fusible glass with the cobalt blue emblem  applied using the glass fusion method.  The inside was then sandblasted to disperse the light and now allow the light bulbs to show through.  It was first fused as a flat disc and then slumped into a large round ceramic mold in a kiln.
